Chess
TBD
Join us for a fun and welcoming chess meet-up where kids of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the game together! While this is not a formal chess class, players learn from one another through friendly matches and shared strategies.
To ensure we have enough space, we ask that families RSVP the day before or the day of by sending us a text 314-328-4313 with your name and the number of players attending. We can accommodate up to 20 players, so reserving your spot in advance is recommended!
We encourage each child or family to bring a chessboard, but if you forget yours, don’t worry—we typically have extras available.
To help create a positive experience for everyone, we ask that parents provide any needed support, especially for younger children who may be learning good sportsmanship. If your child benefits from extra guidance, please stay nearby to assist as needed. Our goal is to foster an enjoyable and inclusive environment where all kids can develop their love for chess!
Handicrafts for Kids
One Wednesday a month we have a Handicraft Class taught at 12:30-1:30pm- see calendar on our home page for the date.
In this hands-on class, students will learn traditional handicrafts in a way that aligns with Charlotte Mason's philosophy- focusing on a skill, creativity and quality work. Each session introduces a new craft or builds on previous skills, encouraging patience, fine motor development, and practical creativity. Whether weaving, knitting, embroidery, or other handwork, students will gain confidence in creating useful and beautiful projects. Age requirements may vary depending on the project. This class is generally for ages 6+. The class size is limited to 10.
There is no class fee but a donation to cover the cost of the products needed for the handicraft class would be appreciated! You can purchase from the following Amazon list.
